writing articles, article promotion
It is pretty
obvious that content is king online. It is also obvious
that writing more content and submitting them to other
sites will help boost your popularity and bring more
visitors to your site.
So why wouldn't you help
boost those pages that have your articles on them?
I want to share a small tip that will help boost
your articles popularity all over the world.
See,
most of us who do write articles are mainly concerned
about getting their articles published. Well why
wouldn't you reward those who publish your articles?
I am consistently finding ways to boost pr ratings
for ALL of my pages within my site, you should be too.
If we are all trying to do this, then why don't we help
boost our articles on other sites!
Here's an
example of this...
I have an article titled:
"Getting A Better Rank For All Your Pages"
Now
simply listing this article on my site isn't enough. I
also promote and submit this article wherever I can. If
by chance a web site publishes my article, I will reward
that site by adding a link on my site were that article
is listed.
In fact, if you've seen my marketing
tip articles, there is a small resource box at the
bottom of each article that links to all the sites that
have listed that specific article. Being more specific,
I don't link to their main page, I link to my article.
Here's what that accomplishes...
Let's say
your article is listed on "Articles R Us" and you want
your article to be found by anyone who searches for that
company, boosting your pr rating for your article on
"Articles R Us" will help you get more visitors from
that site.
See, it's not only about listing your
articles because we would all like to have our articles
found right away and 1st. Don't miss the chance to gain
more visitors by letting your article die out on the
site that you listed it in.
What if all your
articles listed on other sites, had a pr rating in
google of (pr4) or more? That would be great!
That would be great because we all know that Google
rewards your link popularity when listed in a page that
is pr4 or more!
So don't be shy to reward those
who list your articles, doing so will only boost your
search engine ranking and also give you a lot more
visitors than before!
----------------------------------------------------------------
In this article you will learn how writing an
article on the subject you love the most will help you
bring more visitors to your site! Not only will your
traffic boost but you'll also be placing yourself as the
professional in your field.

Recycle Your
Articles to Gain Tons of Traffic and New Subscribers
While there are many effective ways to get
more traffic and build your ezine list, the one I’ve had
the MOST success with is to submit articles for use on
other people’s websites and in their ezines.

While there are

list, the one I’ve had the MOST success with is to
submit articles for use on other people’s websites and
in their ezines.
“But wait a minute,” you say.
“Aren’t I supposed to be creating great articles for MY
OWN e-zine?”
Yes, you are! And after your article
appears in your OWN e-zine, you should then submit it to
others. Over the past few years, I’ve found this to be
the best way to get traffic, build my list, and increase
my sales, for five reasons:
1) You can quickly
gain FREE exposure to TENS OF THOUSANDS (or even
HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS) of untapped prospects at a time.
There are many high-traffic sites and ezines with high
readerships that are looking for content from people
like YOU.
2) Articles let you educate and share
good information with your prospects. They also position
you as an expert in their eyes, so they’ll think of YOU
as the most respected resource in your field.
(Traditional ads don’t do that for you.)
3) You
have the right to promote yourself, your business, and
whatever else you want at the end of every article. And
anyone using your article must keep this information
intact. (More on that in a minute.)
4) This is a
tried-and-true method that will NEVER stop working,
unlike the latest and greatest gimmicks to spoof the
search engines. (Try one of those and see how quickly
your traffic halts once the bottom drops out.) Search
engines love real content and will always love real
content.
5) It’s EASY, and anyone can do it!
HERE’S HOW TO GET STARTED…
1. PICK A WINNER
Browse through your archives and pick an insightful
article that really showcases your expertise. Or, if
this is new to you, write a basic article on your
subject of expertise. (Not a good writer, or need help?
Hire a writer from Elance.com.)
2. POLISH IT ‘TIL
IT SHINES
Publishers will not be interested in
your article if it contains typos, misspelled words,
grammatical errors, or inactive Web links — these goofs
would compromise the integrity of their publications. So
make sure it’s Kosher!
3. ADD A COPYRIGHT NOTICE
At the end of the article, insert a copyright notice,
dated when you first published the article. Example: ©
2005 Alexandria K. Brown
4. WRITE A JAZZY
“RESOURCE BOX”
In exchange for your letting other
publishers reprint your article, it’s customary to
require they include the contact information you
provide. This is usually called the “resource box” and
it should come RIGHT after your copyright notice. Here’s
where you can ham it up.
Don’t waste time
promoting your actual business in the resource box. Why?
Remember your #1 goal is always to get prospects on your
LIST. You’ll gain MORE clients and customers by FIRST
getting them to subscribe to your FREE ezine or special
report. THEN you’ve got them! You’ll be in front of them
regularly, and that’s when they’ll understand why they
should hire you or buy your products.
5. SUBMIT
YOUR ARTICLE TO ONLINE CONTENT DIRECTORIES
There are
hundreds of ‘free content’ Web sites and announcement
lists where you can submit your articles for other
publishers to use. Some even let you include a picture
and other information about your website. One of my
favorites is EzineArticles.com.
6. SUBMIT YOUR
ARTICLE DIRECTLY TO APPROPRIATE PUBLISHERS
For best
results, take the bull by the horns and contact
publishers directly. But not just any publishers — ones
with e-zines that accept articles AND whose readers are
your ideal clients and customers. A great place to start
your search and build your own list is Charlie Page’s
Directory of E-zines.
7. AUTOMATE THE ENTIRE
PROCESS
I know you’re probably thinking right
now, “OK Ali, this sounds great, but isn’t this going to
be time consuming?”
The answer is most definitely
YES. In the past, you’d have to spend several hours a
week just to get one article out there. It’s a lot of
administrative work, requiring time that you probably
don’t have.
But my friend Jason Potash has just
released his brand new “ARTICLE ANNOUNCER” software that
does all this work FOR you. It blasts out your articles
to hundreds of directories, publishers, and other
sources to help generate a slew of web visitors to your
site, month after month.
My staff and I have
tested Jason’s “Article Announcer” product and
wholeheartedly recommend it. I urge you to see Jason’s
information page NOW, and grab your own copy before the
price goes UP in just a few days.
Remember also
that if you don’t want to do any of your own article
marketing yourself, it’s a perfect task to pass on to an
assistant, intern, or freelancer. The key is getting it
down to a SYSTEM, which is what this software helps you
do.
Do You Want
Your Articles to be Read? Do This
The titles of your articles should invite
further attention, not a yawn. It may take a little more
time to come up with an interesting and compelling
title, but it is well worth your time.

Remember the old
riddle, "If a tree falls in the forest and no one is
there to hear it, does it still make a noise?" If you
write articles, ask yourself, "If I write a great
article and no one reads it, does it still do its job?"
The simple answer is: NO!
You could be the
best article writer, but if the title of your article is
just a boring label it will not attract attention and
all of your effort will go down the drain.
TEST YOURSELF
The next time you are
waiting in line at the supermarket, read the article
titles on the covers of the women's magazines and figure
out what it is about them that attracts millions of
sales each week. Which titles attract your attention and
why?
The best titles will always offer to solve a
problem, tell the reader how to get something he or she
wants. or warn of a big problem the reader might
experience if they don't read the article.
WHICH ARTICLE WOULD YOU RATHER READ?
It is
clear that the most important words any article writer
will write are the ones in the title. In fact, the title
of an article can either attract or repel readers.
Here are two sets of headlines to analyze:
"Activities Kids Enjoy" OR "Give Your Kids A Summer To
Remember"
"Make Staying Healthy A Priority" OR "5
Symptoms You Can't Ignore"
In each case, the
titles refer to the same topic, but the second one
conveys a benefit that the potential reader desires.
They use the word "you" to make the appeal more
personal. One appeals to a parent's desire to "give" to
their children (emotional) and the other peaks curiosity
and fear.
Chances are, you would choose to read
the second article titles over the first ones if they
both popped up in a search engine.
NO YAWNING
ALLOWED
The titles of your articles should
invite further attention, not a yawn. It may take a
little more time to come up with an interesting and
compelling title, but it is well worth your time.
There are several ways to generate article titles
that stand out from the crowd and get read. Here are a
few examples:
--Use numbers, such as "5 Steps to
True Happiness" or "3 Good Reasons to Choose Fixed
Insurance Over Variable." You don't have to limit number
titles to list-style articles. Nearly any article can be
broken up into a number of steps or reasons.
--Create a play on words using a popular phrase. For
example, an article about how to wash the outside of
your second-floor windows might be titled "Don't Let
Window Washing be a Pane in Your Neck."
--Make
your title a question: "Can You Really Make Money
Online?"
--Compare something to something else:
"Why Apples are Just Like Oranges."
--Fill in
the blank: "How To (Blank)," "From (Blank) to (Blank),"
or "Everything You Always Wanted to Know About (Blank)."
REMEMBER THE BEST MEAL YOU EVER HAD, THEN
WRITE
When you write a great headline, it is
like eating desert before dinner. Your article is the
meat, your resource box is the potatoes, but your
headline is the promise of sweet things to come.
