Boy or girl, boy or girl…. Which is
it? Many parents enjoy the ups and downs of trying to

For others selecting the sex of their baby is serious
business. Believe it or not, there are scientifically
grounded strategies for influencing the sex of your baby
one way vs. another. No, this isn’t magic it’s just body
chemistry.
Your diet can actually influence the
pH of your body, making your vaginal secretions either
alkaline or acidic, which can influence your chances for
having a boy or girl.
Now, that said, changing
your diet alone will not guarantee that you have a boy
or a girl. But it can turn the tide in your favor if you
are anxious for one sex or another.
Girl Baby
Diet
You should eat foods rich in calcium and
magnesium.
Here are some dietary suggestions for
mom’s who want to conceive a girl baby:
- Eggs
- Milk or Milk Products
- Salt Free Food
- Ice
Cream
- Tangerines
- Grapefruit
- Apples
-
Lettuce
- Carrots/Veggies
Boy Baby Diet
You should eat foods rich in sodium and potassium.
- Salted meat products
- Fish
- Sausage
- Rice
- Potatoes
- Beans
- Peaches
-
Bananas
- Apricots
- Melons
- Tomatoes
-
Sweet Corn
Of course it is not guaranteed that
you will have a boy or girl simply by changing your
diet. Other things you can do to influence the gender of
your baby is to time intercourse. Research suggests that
timing intercourse a few days before ovulation will
result in a girl, whereas timing intercourse the day of
or day before ovulation is more likely to result in a
boy. This is because the male Y-sperms are considered
weaker and will die off before you ovulate if you have
intercourse earlier in your cycle. There are other
studies that suggest that men who wear tighter underwear
or keep their scrotum warmer are more likely to have
girl Babies, Toddlers, Kids & Childrens, because the boy’s Y-sperm need a cooler
temperature to survive.
Ultimately there are no
guarantees when it comes to choosing the gender of your
baby. There are some scientific methods that involve
‘spinning’ sperm, but many of these are still under
research and can be quite expensive.
No matter
what method you choose, remember to have fun. The end
result of your efforts is a beautiful baby regardless of
their sex.
Is Your Baby’s Size
Normal
All
mothers watch their children’s development closely. We
get worried if they’re too small, or too big, too short
or too tall. But, just like adults, Babies, Toddlers,
Kids & Childrens come in all
shapes and sizes. When you take your baby to the
pediatrician for her well baby checkups, they will rank
your baby’s size. Here’s some idea of how it will work.

Kids & Childrens come in all
shapes and sizes. When you take your baby to the
pediatrician for her well baby checkups, they will rank
your baby’s size. Here’s some idea of how it will work.
When your baby is weighed and measured, the
pediatrician will tell you where your baby’s weight and
length rank in terms of a “percentile”. This simply
tells you how your baby compares to other Babies,
Toddlers, Kids & Childrens of the
same age. For example, if your baby’s weight falls into
the 80th percentile, it means she weighs more than 80
percent of Babies, Toddlers, Kids & Childrens her age. Some people seem to think
ranking in a high percentile is a good thing, because it
means the baby is thriving. However, this is not
necessarily the case. A baby in the 40th percentile
might be thriving, but just destined to be a small
person. For example, my daughter has consistently ranked
in about the 50th percentile, and she is very healthy,
and has plenty of meat on her bones. My husband and I
are not very large people, and it seems that she has
simply inherited our body size.
Your baby’s
length will be ranked in exactly the same way, and can
give you an idea of whether your baby will be tall,
medium or average in height. If both you and your
husband are short, don’t expect a baby to rank in the
90th percentile in height, though it can happen.
One thing you do need to look for is a major difference
between the height and weight percentiles. They should
be pretty close. If your baby is in the 40th percentile
in height, and 90th in weight, you might be feeding her
a bit too much. On the other hand, a baby in the 90th
percentile in height that ranks in the 30th percentile
in weight is probably a bit on the thin side. Your
doctor will advise you if your child’s diet needs
attention.
The most important thing you can do to
monitor your child’s development is to attend those well
baby visits with your pediatrician. Your doctor will be
monitoring your baby’s progress, and in the event that
any area needs attention, he will be able to alert you
to the issues. This first year of development is
critical, and it is good to keep tabs on the progress.
Conceiving A Baby
And Conception Positions

Conceiving a baby successfully means understanding
the best conception positions, your monthly reproductive
cycle and your overall health. Conceiving a baby and
pregnancy are wonderful events that are complex but very
satisfying and exciting. Here are tips on the best
conception positions and getting pregnant:
1.
Know your fertile time - in general, ovulation occurs
about 14 days before your next period begins. For women
with cycles of 28 days, that could make day #14 your
most fertile for getting pregnant (day #1 being the
first day that your last period began). If your have a
30-day cycle, day #16 may be the best time to go for it.
2. Monitor your basal body temperature - the slight
elevations in your body temperature when you awake each
day signal your most fertile time. When conceiving a
baby is the goal, use a basal thermometer that is
accurate enough to detect these slight changes in your
body temperature.
3. Monitor your cervical mucus
- ovulation causes a change in the appearance and
consistency of cervical mucus. By checking yourself each
day, you'll be able to see the 'egg-white-like' vaginal
discharge that indicates ovulation and your most fertile
time for conceiving a baby.
4. The best of the
conception positions is the missionary position - the
time-proven 'man-on-top' position works with gravity to
encourage semen flow toward the uterus that maximizes
the chance of a sperm uniting with the egg, causing
conception.
5. Use the rear-entry position -
another of the conception positions is the
'doggy-style', which allows your partner to deposit
semen close to your cervix.
6. Use the
side-by-side position - again, this position allows your
partner's sperm to start their journey as near your
cervix as is possible. For all three conception
positions mentioned, after ejaculation, you can remain
on your back with your legs bent a few minutes to
further maximize semen flow toward the uterus.
7.
Adopt a healthy lifestyle - this is one of the most
important tips for conceiving a baby. Healthy living
includes a sensible diet, nutritional supplements,
adequate quality sleep, managing stress, some exercise
and weight management. Another of the conceiving a baby
tips is to simply relax and enjoy your partner. Enjoy
the closeness you'll experience with someone you truly
care about.
And your desire for becoming
pregnant and conceiving a baby will have even more
importance to you if it means you'll be taking better
care of yourself and your partner. Not only does that
mean a more healthy you, it also means you'll increase
the chances of having a healthier baby. That's the kind
of beginning you want to provide that new person that
you know is going to be a star.
