scrapbooking ideas for a baby boy

You have just become the proud parent of a baby boy. Whether this is your first child or not, you’ll want to commemorate this special event by creating a baby scrapbook. It’s easy and fun to find creative ideas for scrapbooking your son.

The first thing that you need to think about when it come to making an album for your new baby boy is how detailed you would like the scrapbook to be. There are a variety of different sizes you can choose from when it comes to selecting albums, so make sure, if it is going to be detailed, that you consider a larger size, such as a 12 x 12 album.

Now, when you start organizing and planning all the scrapbooking ideas that you might have, you should really start from the very beginning – such as when you were pregnant. Now, some women go so far as to save every detail of their pregnancy, even the pregnancy stick that indicated they were going to have their child. Now, if you are the kind of person that has saved such a thing, start the scrapbook with a picture of the stick, rather than the actual stick.

Another interesting suggestion for a baby boy album that you can include is a page documenting how your stomach grew month by month as you were pregnant. This can actually be split up into nine different pages, and on each page you can document how you were feeling at that particular stage of your pregnancy, as well as any food cravings that you had.

Of course, you have to have pages of the actual delivery. While actual pictures of the event might or might not be included, things such as baby and mother hospital bracelets, as well as any other papers from that day, should be included.

Once the baby has been born, the birth announcement is released. Be sure to include a copy of that, as well as any cards that family and friends sent congratulating you on the news. This can also include cards that were sent along with flowers.

There are a variety of other ways that you can make pages for a baby boy scrapbook album. However, you need to define how long of a period the album should span. One idea is to have the scrapbook be about the baby’s first year, or if you are one to take a lot of pictures and collect a lot of mementos, you might want to make a shorter period of time, like 6 months.

To personalize the album with a boy’s personality, use blue shades of cardstock. Mat photos with varying shades of blue as well. There are lots of stickers and embellishments available with a baby boy theme as well. Finally, include his name often in your page titles. Don’t forget to add a personal touch to the outside of the album cover. You might add a ribbon from a baby shower package or have his name embossed on the cover.

For more information, be sure to search the internet, since there are many scrapbooking sites that can give you interesting ideas for making a baby album. You can also consult friends and family who have done scrapbooks for their own children. There are lots of interesting and creative ideas for baby scrapbooks.

Great Christening and Baptism Keepsake Ideas

A baby’s christening or baptism is a very special occasion. It is the very first step in their spiritual life so there should be as many keepsakes of the day as possible.

A baby’s christening or baptism is a very special occasion. It is the very first step in their spiritual life so there should be as many keepsakes of the day as possible. Since the baby won’t have any first-hand memories of this special day, it’s up to the parents, godparents and family members to create lasting memories for them.

There are always the popular items that make treasured keepsakes, but there are many other ideas that might get overlooked. For instance, are the invitations just for inviting guests to the celebration and providing all the important details? That is their main purpose, but saving just one of them to be framed or placed in a memory album/scrapbook will create a lasting souvenir of the occasion.

Here is a list of some more obvious and not-so-obvious items that make great baptism or christening keepsakes creating lifetime memories for the baby.

<li><b>Gown or Outfit</b> – Choosing heirloom quality fabric and taking the proper storage measures will help preserve the gown or outfit for future generations or just for a lasting remembrance.

<li><b>Accessories</b> such as shoes, socks, bib, blanket, bonnet, towel, headband, boutonniere - They all add an extra special touch to the gown or outfit and make great mementos.

<li><b>Favors</b> – These are perfect for showing appreciation to guests and giving them a take-home token. Many types of favors can be personalized.

<li><b>Certificate</b> – This is a great way to create a written record of the baptism or christening that can be framed and displayed.

<li><b>Bracelet</b> – What could be more precious and beautiful than a baby bracelet adorning the infant on her special day?

<li><b>Personalized Gifts</b> – These are normally items designed specifically for a christening or baptism such as a photo album, photo frame, Bible, cross plaque, doll, prayer bear, or candle. They are extra special because of the personalization.

<li><b>Share of Stock with Framed Certificate</b> – This is a gift that will educate and grow with the child throughout their life and the personalized frame will commemorate the date of their baptism or christening.

Godparents, in particular, should really consider giving their godchild a keepsake gift since part of their responsibility is to help the child grow in their spirituality. Since their baptism or christening is the beginning of their spiritual life, it should always be remembered. There are special godchild, goddaughter, and godson gifts available that can be personalized with the baby’s name and the date.

Keepsakes are a wonderful way to honor the memory of a baby’s christening or baptism through the years as they grow, both physically and spiritually.

How to do a baby handprint poem

It is easy to create a baby handprint poem keepsake if you know how. It literally only requires a very few simple steps that anyone can do. You’ll will only six ingredients and you’re on your way...

It can be a lot of fun creating a baby handprint poem keepsake. As it involves paint and a child it can also very quickly get very messy so be sure to do it at a place where you can easily clean up after you’re done creating the keepsakes.

Before you get started you will need to find a poem that you can put place the baby hands on. There are a lot of poems available on the internet that you can borrow. Be sure to read any disclaimer or copyright information that is posted along side the poem that you choose. I always recommend that you contact the author (if possible) to make sure that it is okay to use the poem they created.

Most of the time they are only glad that someone likes their poem. They might even have more poems that you can use for additional keepsake ideas that you might have.

If you haven’t got the time to look around for a poem to use then here is one that you can print:

Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls

But every day I'm growing
I'll be grown some day
And all those tiny handprints
Will surely fade away

So here's a little handprint
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small

-- Put a date here --
Love, -- put child's name here --

Be sure to print out a few copies in case the first handprint isn’t perfect.

The other ingredients that you will need is: Your child in play clothing (obviously), a small photo (not necessary), water based paint (or finger paint), a bowl or similar to hold the paint, a sponge or a brush to apply the paint to your child’s hand, paper towels to easily clean up your child’s hands afterwards.

Now you apply the paint to your baby’s hand and place the hand on the paper with the poem at the exact place that you want it to appear. It might take several tries before you get it right so be sure to bring your patience.

When you have finally made a baby handprint poem that you like be sure to clean the hands (and the rest) of your baby before moving on to anything else. Otherwise you might end up getting paint all over the place.

Now you’ll have to wait for the paint to dry and if you want to you can glue a little picture of the baby to the handprint poem. To add a final touch you can frame it to make it last for years to come. Be sure to add the baby’s name and the date to the handprint poem before you frame it.
