Unfortunately, the simple act of communicating with one another can lead to confused messages, or messages being missed entirely. This is especially true

when it comes to communication between men and women. It's no wonder there's conflict, when they interpret the same conversation in different ways. This is

because of the different conversational styles of men and women.

Many examples will stereotype male/female responses. There are many exceptions to the examples I've identified. Analyze how you feel or respond to

situations; compare them to those described, and decide if you need to change anything in your communication style.

As women grow up, talk is the thread from which Relationship, Liaison, Alliance, Affiliations are woven. They develop and maintain friendships by exchanging secrets, and regard talking as

the cornerstone of friendships. Men bond as intensely as women, but their friendships are based more on doing things together and don't require talk to

speaking are when they're trying to evaluate whether the speaker is lying or not; the speaker is hostile and they may have to take defensive action; or

they're evaluating an attractive woman. In this last case, they'll glance over the woman's body while listening to her comments. This is highly distracting

to the female speaker because the man's eyes mirror that he's not really listening to what she's saying, but rather sizing her up as a woman.

Another habit that gives women the impression men aren't listening is that they switch topics more often. Women tend to talk at length about one topic; men

tend to jump from topic to topic. When a woman expresses her point of view, her female listener usually expresses agreement and support, whereas men point

out the other side of the issue. Women see this as disloyalty and a refusal to offer support to their ideas. Women prefer other points of view expressed as

suggestions and inquiries, rather than as direct challenges or arguments. Men are more comfortable with an oppositional style.

Men expect silent attention and interpret constant listener noise as signs of impatience on the listeners' part. When men don't make listening noises, women

may assume they're not listening to them. Women make more listening noises such as "uh-huh ..." to encourage the other person. Men often believe these noises

mean the woman agrees with him, when she may not agree with him at all. Because men don't make as many listening noises, women assume they're not really

listening. Men are also less likely to make non-verbal signs of listening, and many continue doing whatever they were doing before the conversation began.

Women are more likely to nod their head more, give direct eye contact, and stop whatever else they may have been doing when the conversation began.

Women often overlap and finish each other's sentences (normally, neither is offended). Men clam up or react defensively when women do this to them, because

they feel the woman's trying to take over the conversation. Men feel it's rude to finish another's comments and shows lack of attention to what they're

Sex Toys More Common in Women in Relationship, Liaison, Alliance, Affiliations than single Females

A random sample of almost 2,600 women aged 18 to 60 were invited to participate in the survey. About 1,600 agreed to complete the survey, answering questions about their Relationship, Liaison, Alliance, Affiliation status and use of sex toys.

Nearly half of adult women currently use sex toys or have tried them in the

past, research shows. And women in Relationship, Liaison, Alliance, Affiliations are even more likely to use them. The report comes from Chicago's Berman Center. Directed by sex therapist Laura Berman, LCSW, PhD, the center focuses on women's sexual health and
menopause. The online study, funded by an unrestricted educational grant from drugstore.com, was conducted by Knowledge Networks for the Berman Center. The results were presented at the Women's Sexual Health State-of the-Art Series conference in Chicago.

Forty-four percent said they currently use a sex toy or had done so in the past. The most commonly used sex toy was a vibrator. Young women aged 25-34 were the most likely to have ever used a sex toy, with 51% of participants in that age group reporting current or past sex toy use. Women aged 55-60 were just as likely to have tried a sex toy at some point in their lives. However, they were half as likely as younger women to currently use sex toys.

Most current or past sex toy users were in Relationship, Liaison, Alliance, Affiliations and said they did not view the devices as a substitute for a partner. Of unmarried women living with their partners, 43% said they currently used sex toys, and 17% said they had used them in the past. Among women in Relationship, Liaison, Alliance, Affiliations who were not living with their partners, 35% said they currently used sex toys, and 21% said they had done so in the past.


Sex Toys Less Common Among Singles
Sex toy use was less common among women not in Relationship, Liaison, Alliance, Affiliations. Twenty-two percent of single women said they were current sex toy users; 12% said they
had used sex toys in the past.The use of sex toys was most popular among white women and women with some college education.


Thirty-four percent of white women said they currently used sex toys, compared with 22% of black participants, 19% of Hispanics, and 8% of "other" races.
Thirty-seven percent of women with some college education (but not a degree) were current sex toy users, compared with 26% of women with a college degree
and 29% of high school graduates with no college education.


Sex Toys no Substitute for Real Thing
Overall, women had a "neutral-to-positive" outlook on sex toy use. After controlling for demographic variables, "current sex toy users, whether or not in a steady healthy Relationship, Liaison, Alliance, Affiliation, were significantly more likely to report a higher level of desire and interest for sex and less pain during and following intercourse," says the report.

"However, current and former users who were not in steady healthy Relationship, Liaison, Alliance, Affiliations were still less satisfied with their overall sexual life than their counterparts."
Most sex toy users (about 90%) said they were open about it with their partners. Almost two-thirds of women said their partners were supportive of their sex toy use.

The main reason cited for current or past sex toy use: curiosity.
