If you are staying in Orlando for an extended period of time, you are most likely planning on taking a day off from the theme parks. You can easily wind up walking five miles a day at most of the parks! Some families like to take a day off to experience resort amenities, do some shopping in and around Orlando, and enjoy a nice family dinner. Luckily, Orlando offers three major dinner shows that prove to be tremendous values for families interested in a lively feast.

What can I expect?

Dinner shows in Orlando are quite unique. Though they were not invented here, they sure seem to have been perfected in Orlando. Unlike the majority of dinner shows around the country, these shows are permanent and don’t change depending on the season. Audience participation is encouraged; do not be afraid to get vocal!

Where to go…

Depending on the makeup of your party, you will want to take each venue’s theme into consideration in making your decision.

Arabian Nights
This family-oriented dinner show features a cast of over fifty beautiful horses in an indoor 25-act equestrian show. Voted #1 dinner show time and time again, Arabian Nights has created its own niche as a truly unique venue. Some past awards include: 2001 Best Romantic Restaurant, 1999 Golden Palm Award, 1999 Florida Living Magazine, 1995 Odyssey Award, Best Dinner Show, and more. Reservations are required.

Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament
This dinner show transports guests back to the medieval era. While guests enjoy a multi-course feast, eaten without utensils, a cast of 100 knights on horseback participate in an interactive show that kids and teens in particular will enjoy. The show includes a lighthearted storyline complete with authentic jousting matches, and hand-to-hand combat. Reservations are required.

Pirates Dinner Adventure
This Broadway-quality show is presented on an enormous, fully-rigged pirate’s ship. The elaborate set provides the backdrop for action, romance, and comedy; all of this while you dine on authentic Caribbean cuisine. Relive the time of swashbuckling pirates on the rough seas!

A superior value

If you have the time, it is highly recommended you experience at least one of these shows. You would spend an average of $15-$20 per person at a decent restaurant anyway, for a comparable amount; why not immerse yourself in a total nighttime entertainment experience?

Enjoy A Night Out At A 1930’s Style Dinner Show In Orlando

If you are in Orlando and looking for an Italian restaurant with a difference, then a night out at Capone’s Dinner and Show is certain to meet your expectations and more.

If you are in Orlando and looking for an Italian restaurant with a difference, then a night out at Capone’s Dinner and Show is certain to meet your expectations and more.

Advertised as a “blast from the past” this is a theater restaurant that harks back to 1930’s gangland Chicago. Each night there is a musical comedy revue with actors garbed in period style costumes. After a successful 15 year run, a new show is currently on offer.

The waiters are part of the show and stay in character throughout the whole evening, sporting gangster names, and speaking in gangster slang. There is also a lot of audience participation in the show. In fact, you can’t enter without giving a secret password, just like in the speakeasy bars of the 1930s.

But there is more than music and laughs at Capone’s. While you are watching the show you are treated to a full meal. The menu features an Italian food buffet as well as some standard American dishes, and you can eat as much as you like. Included with the meal are unlimited draft beer, soda and alcoholic drinks.

In addition to your normal family night out, Capone’s also has special offers. If you have a group of 15 or more you can take advantage of special group rates. The restaurant is also a good venue to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, weddings and engagements. In fact the restaurant encourages making wedding proposals there promising that “it will make your engagement night a night she will never forget.”

Here is the basic information about Capone’s Dinner and Show: It is located at Kissimmee-St. Cloud/Osceola County , 4740 West US 192 Kissimmee, FL 34746, and you can call them at these numbers: 407-397-2378 and 800-220-8420. The daily show starts at 7:30 pm

On Thanksgiving Day there is a special meal and from Thanksgiving to Christmas there is a Christmas Show. On New Year’s Eve there are two shows, an early bird special and a later show which features a champagne toast at midnight.

So, if you want to have some fun while Holiday, Vacation & Touring in Orlando, visit Capone’s and whisper quietly to the guard at the door, “Mark sent me!”

If there’s one place on earth where almost everyone wants to go at one point in their lives – whether they’re newlyweds, college students, families with small children, or even retirees – it’s Orlando, Florida. Why? Because it’s the home of Walt Disney World! It doesn’t matter how young or old you are when you travel to Orlando and head to Disney World, you’ll always feel like a kid. The excitement, adventure, and just plain fun atmosphere almost guarantees a perfect Holiday, Vacation & Tour in Orlando.

In fact, Walt Disney World first opened in 1971, and since that opening day, it has expanded to include an immense amount of features! It includes four theme parks, a sports complex, race track, two water parks, six golf courses, twenty family or resort hotels, and many, many more restaurants, shopping, and entertainment options than you could ever experience in just one visit. Literally, Walt Disney World takes up over 20,000 acres of space in Orlando, making it the largest amusement part in the world. Think that still isn’t enough? Believe it or not, Disney actually has its own adjacent community in the Orlando suburbs, called Celebration.

Since there are four separate theme parks in Orlando’s Walt Disney World, it can sometimes get a little confusing as to what each part really represents. Here’s a quick overview of each theme park inside the Disney World property:

1) The Magic Kingdom: This theme park has seven “countries”, and each focuses on a different and unique theme. Inside the Magic Kingdom, you’ll travel to Main Street USA, Mickey’s Toontown Fair, Liberty Square, Frontierland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland, and Fantasyland – each with their own set of themed rides to enjoy!

2) Epcot: The Epcot park was initially built as an homage to technological innovation, and as such, focuses more on exhibits rather than rides. There is also a large focus on learning what it means to live in harmony with international culture, and therefore many of the exhibits are very informative and culturally-related.

3) Disney MGM-Studios: This Disney World part has five separate themed area, each attempting to focus on a different part of the “studio production” process. These areas include: Hollywood Boulevard, Mickey Avenue, Sunset Boulevard, the Animation Courtyard, and the Backlot!

4) Disney’s Animal Kingdom: The park here is dedicated to animal conservation, and as such, has seven small “lands” that focus on different species from these areas – sometimes real, and sometimes imaginary! The sections include: Oasis, Camp Mickey & Minnie, Asia, DinoLand USA, Discovery Island, Africa, and Rafiki’s Planet Watch.

A trip to Orlando, Florida would simply not be complete without at least a day in Walt Disney World – after all, it’s the place where dreams are supposed to come true!
