For Your Winter Holidays In Brazil Try Ponta Dos Ganchos, For A Totally Brazil Holiday, Vacation & Tour

Ponta Dos Ganchos is Brazil’s most exclusive resort, and winter holidays in Brazil make sense because of the favourable weather during the winter months. Rated as a top South American Hotel I was lucky enough to be taken there by family who live in Brazil.

Where is it? Obviously in Brazil, but in fact it is surrounded by the famous Costa Esmerelda, and about 45 minutes from Florianopolis airport. I also discovered it is a member of the Relais & Chateaux group, and as yet o...

I also discovered it is a member of the Relais & Chateaux group, and as yet one of the great undiscovered hotels of the world.

I asked my uncle if we could have a totally Brazil Holiday, Vacation & Tour, and I said I had stayed in some of the best tropical Holiday, Vacation & Tour spots, what was there in the way of Brazilian Holiday, Vacation & Tour resorts which is why we ended up at Ponta Dos Ganchos.

It is a beautiful resort a real gem with only twenty rooms, and our room was truly stunning with a private pool, private sauna, and indoor Jacuzzi overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The bathroom was absolutely huge with double shower, his ‘n her toilets, double basins, there was even an outdoor shower.

The sundeck came equipped with a hammock and two long sunbeds, there was a well stocked bar, where everything non alcoholic was complimentary, and the flat screen television even rotated so you could watch it in bed or in the sitting room – fabulous!!

There are two restaurants, one where you eat breakfast or light lunch which is served all day, and the main restaurant where you could eat outside or inside, and it is on two levels. Lunch runs all afternoon, and dinner until the early hours of the morning so there is no pressure to stick to a routine. The food is good, not outstanding but lots of seafood which I love, and wine is at about European restaurant prices. Be warned that the staff although most attentive don’t speak English!!

We did some exploring, and found villages close by, the water was calm and clear for swimming, and we were lucky enough to see dolphins off the coast by the marine reserve. This hotel deserves its’ reputation as one of the best Brazilian Holiday, Vacation & Tour resorts in fact it is one of the best tropical resorts I have stayed in.

Brazil is the largest and most populated country in South America, and is fifth largest in the world in both area and population. Portuguese is the only official language of Brazil which is spoken by nearly the entire population. In fact, Brazil is the only country in the America’s in which Portuguese is their primary language.

If you look at a map of Brazil, you can see that it borders almost every other South American country except Ecuador and Chile. Brazil is divided up into 5 regions. The North Region, which is by far the largest, Northeast Region, Center-west Region, South Region and the Southeast Region, home of the most famous and popular destinations Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. The capital of Brazil is Brasilia, and with 11 million plus people, Sao Paulo is its largest city. Sao Paulo Brazil is also one of the largest cities by area and population in the southern hemisphere.

Brazil has a large selection of outdoor activities available for tourists and locals alike. You can hike, surf, dive, go rafting, play golf, volleyball, soccer, fish or virtually anything else you may want to do in the great outdoors you can do here in Brazil. Like most places in the world as of late, Cave exploring is now a very popular commode and with about 2, 800 registered Caves, the tourism industry has never been brighter.

Brazil is, of course, is also home to over 60% of the Amazon Rainforest. The Rainforest itself has some 5.5 million kilometres in total size within 8 different countries. The Rainforest also has much wildlife and some species that even still have yet to be discovered. The very sad thing about this habitat is that by the year 2020, it is estimated that 50% of the Brazilian wildlife will become extinct!! It is so bad that since 1970, over 500 square kilometres have been lost in this beautiful forest.

One more thing to remember while in Brazil is that street violence in certain areas of the major cities could get very harsh and dangerous. Don’t let this stop you from going to go visit a remarkable place, just be cautious. Make sure you don’t bring a lot of money with you at one time, don’t walk around at night in places you don’t know and if possible travelling in groups is a great idea. It is also a good idea to make sure you ALWAYS have a photo ID on you. The Brazilian police can ask for such things anytime, and you don’t want to constantly have your passport on you. A photocopy is a must have, so be sure you carry those around and leave the original in a safe place.

Whether you are looking for a beautiful beach, a glimpse of the absolutely stunning Amazon Rainforest, or the mile high sky scrapers in downtown Sao Paolo, Brazil has a little something to offer to any travel adventurer.

What Are Pousadas And Why In Brazil?

Pousadas can be found by the hundreds in Brazil. Especially close to water. Close to water means close to beaches, waterfalls, or the famous Pantanal, which is a swampy area where many scary aligators are waiting to entertain the tourists.

You may wonder why they can be found especially in Brazil. The fact is that there are also many to be found in Portugal and it wouldn't be surprising that you can also find some in some other countries, especially in Africa. What do all ...

What do all these countries have in common?... Exactly, they all are portuguese speaking countries. The word pousada means nothing more than a family run hotel,.... you can also call it a house hotel, or if I am not mistaken, the english word is "inn".

A building too big to be a normal house, or you can say it used to be a really big house, and at the same time,.. too small to be a hotel building. That is what you need to have a pousada. Generally a family runs it, though this does not always mean this family owns the pousada. In some cases a pousada is a bunch of very small houses on a piece of land. Small houses means: So small you can't live in it. Its more like a bungalow tent or a permanent caravan made of stone. But for Holiday, Vacation & Tour purposes one of the best ways to spend your free time.

Talking about bungalow tents and permanent caravans (note, these are a lot smaller than a trailer),... The advantage of a pousada is that you can go to another one every weekend. There´s not obligation to every weekend go to the same old location where you know all your neighbor because they too never go anywhere else. I guess many people like "same old, same old" more than "something new"

Beaches, if you love the beach, then a pousada at the beach is great. And this may be surprising, there is no such thing as a private beach in Brazil, so you never have to worry about only being able to look at the beach. All beaches are accessable for everybody. That doesn't mean all beaches are reachable though. But you can be sure that close to those beaches, you won't find many pousadas.

Waterfalls,.. Some pousadas are placed close to waterfalls. And waterfalls can be found by the hundreds in Brazil. For example the island in front of the coast of the state of São Paulo, named Ilhabella (beautiful island) is maybe 30 by 40 miles big, but you can find over 300 waterfalls on this small island. It is over 2000 feet high so it is not strange that there are some waterfalls of upto 250 feet high.

The Pantanal is a famous area in Brazil of which you can find a lot more information by searching in Google. It´s too much to write about in detail in this article. But if you like the outdoor life, you should consider visiting this part of Brazil. Featured in programs on various channels like the Discovery Channel, the pantanal has many pousadas as home bases to discover the wild life in the Pantanal.

Pousadas are the best places to stay when visiting Brazil, but it is not recommendable to go to these places without knowing the country. English is not commonly spoken, so you either need to speak (brazilian) portuguese or have a trustable guide to help you find your way.
