How To Elope - Without The Upsets!

Generally, eloping tends to evoke negative connotations in the head of the bride-to-be and the groom, as they picture their parents, mothers especially, with a broken heart for decades to come. Do remember that nothing is impossible, even eloping and getting your parents’ blessings.

Generally, eloping tends to evoke negative connotations in the head of the bride-to-be and the groom, as they picture their parents, mothers especially, with a broken heart for decades to come. Do remember that nothing is impossible, even eloping and getting your parents’ blessings.

Disadvantages of Eloping
When considering the option of eloping, there are several distinct and common disadvantages that are likely to emerge as a result. Namely, the mothers of the bride and groom, along with other family members, may feel hurt and take your abrupt actions as a personal offence. In addition, another noted negative aspect of eloping is the missed photo opportunities of numerous candid shots with family and friends on your wedding day.

Be Honest
Now, the good news is there are ways around these seemingly massive pitfalls. If indeed you have chosen to elope, effective communication and honesty will become your saving grace.

As soon as you have made your decision to elope, the time has come to approach your parents. Be prepared for an emotional reaction, and focus on the benefits of eloping. This is a good way to start the conversation. Be sure to mention the benefit of being able to reduce the cost of the wedding significantly. Not to mention, divorced or feuding parents and family members do not have to be accommodated.

Keep Mum Involved
Keeping your mother happy, even if you elope, means keeping your mother involved in your personal decisions for the elopement. Ask her to help you decide on the appropriate wedding dress. Keep your parents engaged with all the personal details and decisions you make.

You Can Still Have Guests
Even if eloping, you can still have a best man, main-of-honor, your parents, and choice close friends present. Additionally, you can always celebrate with friends and family later. Once you get back and are officially Mr. And Mrs., announce it to every one. Send out your announcements informing family and friends of your elopement. There is absolutely no sense in keeping any of it secret.

And Finally…
When and how you choose to celebrate is totally up to you. You can reserve your celebrations for your one-year anniversary, or you can choose a formal or casual affair. Eloping remains an exceptional and functional choice for those couples that simply cannot afford all the bells and whistles. Further, scheduling a delayed reception gives the newly weds an opportunity to save up for the reception, especially if the reception will be reserved for the first-year anniversary.

If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It

Yes I know, if it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it. I have heard that all of my life, but it’s just not me. I am a do-it-yourselfer, fixer-upper, pack rat part collector type of guy. I like to be ready for anything and not be caught off guard. I my car breaks down, I like to have the replacement part and tools in the trunk so that I can get right to fixing it. If the washing machine gives me trouble, I don’t want to have to run here and there looking for parts to fix it. I pref...

I prefer to have had it fixed before it broke.

I have this Winnebago RV that is not brand new by any means. I like to have Winnebago RV parts available just in case I might need one. My wife thinks I am crazy, but she never has had to walk down the highway hitching a ride if the vehicle breaks down. And there is nothing worse than spending your whole Holiday, Vacation & Tour looking for Coleman RV air conditioner parts, or an RV furnace part. It is much easier to have one with you, or not needing it because you replaced it before you left home.

I have a garage full of RV plumbing parts, RV thermostat parts, or anything else that I think I may need. I spend my spare time searching for replacement parts for RVs that I may be able to use. I go to flea markets, search the trader magazines and look at the online auctions. Discount RV parts and accessories do for me what new shoes do for my wife. What can I say, I’m crazy.

But I don’t just collect parts, I use them. I am constantly searching for parts on my RV that may need replacing and replacing them before they wear out. I will not replace them with cheap RV parts. I only purchase quality parts. This may come from my Boy Scout background where you are always to be prepared. Whatever the reason, this is just the way I am. I love to spend my spare time tinkering with something and I can’t think of a better place to put my efforts than into my RV. I keeps me out of trouble, and it makes my Holiday, Vacation & Tour time a lot more enjoyable.

limousine services

If you're considering hiring a limousine service, there are a number of factors you have to consider before you zero in on a limousine operator. Or else, you will be taken for a fine ride. The rental cost is quite important, but it should never be the sole deciding factor. To help you choose the best limousine company for your needs, we've created a list of questions that you shouldn't hesitate to ask. A reliable and professional limousine operator will willingly give you all the answers.

How long has the limousine operator been in business and how many cars do they have in their fleet?

An established limousine operator is not always better than a new one. However, its quite crucial that an operator has ample cars as back up just in case the one you're riding in breaks down.

What type of limousine do you require?

Limousines are nowadays available in various styles and colors. Will the limousine operator be able to provide the particular style that you're looking for?

How are the chauffeurs?

Its important that the chauffeur driving the limousine is a professional, well attired, experienced, licensed and trained. You obviously wanted to be treated in style and have someone who will open your doors and carry your luggage. At the same time, you don't want someone who will cut lanes and race you down the road.

What about pick ups and drops?

Will your operator arrange for you to be picked up and drive you exactly to your destination? What about the return journey? Does the limousine operator run services in those areas? It best to make it clear where you would want to be picked up from and the time you want to be collected. Do this before you pay any money.

What are the rental charges?

Always ask your operator what the rental charge for the particular car you're hiring is. Rental fees vary with the type of the vehicle and the duration you'll be hiring it for. Most companies charge you for a minimum number of hours, even if you wont be using the car for that long.

What about payment?

How are you supposed to pay? Payment methods may be different for different limousine companies. Generally, half the total rental fee is paid by credit or debit card at the time of the booking. The balance is paid in cash to the driver.

What about Insurance?

Some companies evade insuring their vehicles and occupants as its an expensive overhead. The law requires all limousine rental companies to arrange for proper private hire insurance. Its best that you check this with the limousine operator. A professional limousine operator will be able to provide you with proof of their insurance details.

Once you've verified all these questions, be assured that the limousine operator is reliable and professional. You can sit back then and enjoy your journey!
